Revoice25 Conference to Focus on Theme “BUILD” Inspired by the Book of Nehemiah

ST. LOUIS, MO (July 27, 2024) — Revoice is excited to announce the upcoming Revoice25 Conference, set to take place from June 9-12, 2025, in Seattle, Washington. The theme for this year’s conference is “BUILD,” drawing inspiration from the story of Nehemiah in the Bible, a narrative of restoration, community, and faithfulness amidst adversity.

Conference Theme: BUILD

The theme “BUILD” will center on Nehemiah’s journey of rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem, symbolizing the importance of constructing and reconstructing not only physical structures but also spiritual and relational ones. This theme resonates deeply with Revoice’s mission to support and encourage LGBTQ+/SSA (same-sex-attracted) Christians in building lives, communities, and faith structures rooted in the gospel and reflective of God’s love.

Revoice25 will explore key questions such as:

  • What does it look like to build a life that honors God within the historic Christian doctrine of marriage and sexuality?

  • How can we contribute to building Christ-centered communities and churches where everyone is valued, nurtured, and equipped?

  • How can we build up the Church and advance the Kingdom of God through our own unique vocations and gifts?

Keynote Speakers and Sessions

The conference will feature a lineup of esteemed keynote speakers, including theologians, pastors, and leaders who have contributed significantly to the dialogue on faith and sexuality, including Dr. Wesley Hill. Attendees can expect a variety of workshops, panel discussions, and worship sessions designed to equip them with practical tools and spiritual encouragement for building resilient lives and communities.

Quote from Art Pereira, Revoice Director of Events and Partnerships:

“Nehemiah’s story is incredibly relevant to the mission of Revoice and the lives of LGBTQ+/SSA Christians. Just as Nehemiah rallied his community to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem, we are called to build strong, Christ-centered communities where every individual is valued and nurtured. Like Nehemiah, we’ll work with others to build redemptive structures, and we’ll have to overcome tremendous difficulty to do so. Revoice25 is a time for us to come together, share our experiences, and learn how we can better support one another in this sacred work of building lives that reflect God’s love and truth.”
