About Rev. Steven Lympus

Rev. Steven Lympus, Director of Community Engagement

Rev. Steven Lympus, who grew up in Northwest Montana during the Jesus Movement, developed a deep love for Jesus at an early age. He identifies as gay and shares a mixed-orientation marriage with his wife, Laura. Lympus has a long history of ministry, having been ordained in the Presbyterian Church (USA) in 2002. He has pastored congregations across the Northwest and West Coast and currently serves in campus ministry.

Lympus comes with a wealth of significant experience volunteering with Revoice. Most notably, he has coordinated online communities for Revoice including both Renew (a group exclusively open to LGBTQ+/SSA people who hold a traditional, Biblical, sexual ethic and serve in any form of ministry) and Sacred Space (an intentional community exclusively focused on connecting and supporting couples in mixed-orientation marriages who hold a traditional, Biblical, sexual ethic.) Under his leadership and influence, both ministries have thrived.

Lympus holds a BS in Journalism from the University of Montana (1996) and a Master of Divinity from Regent College in Vancouver, British Columbia (2003). He is also an accomplished writer of young adult fiction and a contributor to the forthcoming volume Christlike Acceptance and the Church's LGBTQ Children from Baker Academic. Lympus is the author of one of Revoice’s most popular recent blog posts entitled The Side B-Atitudes.  Lympus has also been active in denominational and community leadership with a focus on racial justice initiatives and refugee care.

Steven and Laura live in Missoula, MT, where they are raising their four teenagers and hosting 20+ college students at the Alpha Omega House, a Christian housing community for young adults at the University of Montana.

Quote from Rev. Steven Lympus:

“God is doing incredible things in Revoice Local Chapters, Online Community Groups, and Care Ministries. I am beyond thrilled to support the faithful leaders discipling and caring for our people in these spaces. My favorite few days of the year are during our Conference, but the heart and soul of Revoice is what’s happening every day across the country and increasingly around the world. As this movement grows, I am grateful and humbled to join the Revoice Team!”

Quote from Nate Collins, Revoice Founder and President:

“Steven’s journey and dedication to fostering vibrant, Christ-centered communities make him an invaluable addition to our team. His leadership will be instrumental in expanding and deepening the impact of Revoice’s community-building initiatives.”

Director of Community Engagement – Role Overview

Revoice’s Director of Community Engagement will oversee Revoice’s key community-building initiatives, ensuring their growth and flourishing both in quality and quantity. These include, but are not limited to, Revoice Local Chapters, Online Communities, and the Care Minister program. Lympus will ensure that Revoice’s year-round communities are growing in health and safety and that community leaders feel equipped, connected, and supported both spiritually and logistically.

Opportunity to Support the Mission

This is a fully support-raised role. Revoice invites donations that will help to support Rev. Steven Lympus’s ministry as well as Revoice’s exciting, rapidly growing ministry of growing communities around the world!

The mission of Revoice is to support and encourage gay, lesbian, bisexual, and other same-sex-attracted Christians—as well as those who love them—so that all in the Church might flourish while observing the historic Christian doctrine of marriage and sexuality. Founded in 2018, Revoice is a growing movement that brings hope, joy, and deep discipleship to thousands of LGBTQ+/SSA individuals worldwide. Revoice’s initiatives include annual conferences, virtual events, discipleship groups, and coaching for church leaders.
